I was tasked with creating an explainer video to aid in a pitch deck for a new app called Bermuda. My role was to concept, storyboard, illustrate, design, record VO and animate this 30 second video. Below is a little snapshot of the creation - from the script & mood board, storyboards, boardomatic & animatic to the final product!
In a mad rush to celebrate Thrive Market's 10 year birthday, I, along with our video editor worked together to create a whopping 12 minute long celebration video in just 2 weeks time. In order to respect the internal privacy of the employees and company, I've cut together some of my favorite graphic & animated highlights from that video.
My mission was to bring together a narrative throughout the video. With no time for recording VO, we instead focused on using the graphics and text animations to guide the viewer through all the accomplishments and milestones in an exciting and cohesive way.
Behold! This here is a handful of animations I’ve done so far in 2020 while attending a class at School of Motion. Each project highlighted in this video is tackling specific fundamentals in motion design that will elevate my overall ability to present smooth, subtle and unique animations moving forward.
A quickie but a goodie! (I hope) “The Dancing Man” is a product of curiosity and some extra time I found in my day to try my hand at a frame-by-frame character animation, based on the beloved Micheal Scott dance in the Cafe Disco episode of the “The Office”.
When time permits, I work together with our studio photographer to concept, style, and direct branded stop motion scenes for use across all platforms.
Another personal project inspired by the new plant craze.
While working at Live Nation, our team had the opportunity to pitch ideas for a Times Square takeover of 4 buildings (American Eagle, ABC, Express and Disney). After they had chosen my concept, I was able to try my hand at leading the project over the next two weeks.
Our goal was to tell story of KISS’s legacy, while also getting people excited about the upcoming tour. Each building interacted with the other and combined Motion Graphics, Cinemagraphs, static photos and video in one minute. When standing at the center of all the buildings, you could soak in all the flames, all the destruction and all the over-the-top theatrics that is: KISS.
After KISS, I was delighted to work on many other Times Square takeover campaigns with a varying degree of involvement. Below are some of the highlights.
A compilation of projects from my time working at Live Nation as the social media Motion Designer for all North American Tours. I was tasked with creating engaging "Cinemagraphs" from one or more static images of the artists provided.
If you’re unfamiliar with what a “Cinemagraph” is, no worries - I’ve provided a very speedy walk-through of what that process entails from start to finish. Just check out that last video!
A series of branded projects from my time working at Live Nation as the social media Motion Designer for all North American Tours. My goal was to always try and spice up the content given to us, while keeping it within the brand guidelines.
Client & Overview: Kiddo is a band I’m currently playing drums for. As part of our name change and rebrand, I tried my hand at creating a lyric video for our debut single “Anyone But You”.
Objective: “Anyone But You” Official Lyric Video - By far the most difficult part for this project was finding a realistic way of animating a full lyric video on my own in an original way, while also making it feel like it was following the branding guidelines we’d set for ourselves. After deciding on the theme and storyboarding the basic timeline of the video, my biggest hurdle was coming up with enough hand lettered variations of words and phrases that also lend themselves to being animated in a short amount of time. With a major time constraint (and one or two all-nighters) we were pleased with the final video.
Results: After it’s release, the video reached 1k views in one week on Youtube and now has nearly 3k views on Facebook.
Role: I was the sole designer and illustrator for the project from start to finish.
